Biographies

Doug Anderson, Assoc. AIA, LCM Architects

For the past 10 years, Doug Anderson has focused his career on assisting business and government organizations understand and implement various methods of Fair Housing and other disability law compliance. This has been carried out through his participation on a federal grant program relating to ADA compliance at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and as a consultant to businesses on the FHAct and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Mr. Anderson has assisted many businesses and government entities in developing FHAct and ADA compliance policies and programs while working for LCM Architects in Chicago. He was appointed by President Bush to serve as a member of the U.S. Access Board for 2003. Additionally, Mr. Anderson has provided over 100 detailed trainings on the ADA and FHAct to various public and private entities.

Mr. Anderson conducts the following FIRST training modules:
  • Overview of the Fair Housing Act (1 hour)
  • Overview of the Fair Housing Act (3 hours, technical portion)
  • Strategies for Compliant Kitchens
  • Strategies for Compliant Bathrooms
  • Common Violations (technical portion)
  • Accessible Routes
  • Accessible Public and Common-Use Areas
